Counselling theory :
There are 6 theory papers for the course.
Lessons prepared by experienced professionals in the field
will be supplied to candidates at regular intervals.
b) Field
Work
:
Candidates after going through the lessons
one by one, need to practice skills and Counselling techniques
of counseling wherever possible. Verbatim reports may be
prepared and sent to the institution. They will be returned
after correction by the staff for understanding and modification
during the next sessions of counseling. Verbatim reports
sharpen your counseling technique.
c) Contact
Programme
:
The Contact Programme will help participants
to get familiarized with the concepts and the subject matter.
Those who had attended short workshops and courses also
can review and reinforce the concepts and sharpen the skills.
It will also give an opportunity to meet and get acquainted
with the staff of the Institution.

Practical Work :
Participants
are expected to practice counseling and psychotherapy with
individuals in need of help. Verbatims are to be written
and sent to IPMS for supervision and comments for further
improvement. Atleast 10 verbatims need to be written five
in each year.
Contact
Classes :
A
contact class programme will be arranged at all admission
centers depending on the No. of candidates) and it
is important that all need to attend and benefit from it.
It will give a good orientation and familiarity with the
theory papers. However the contact classes are voluntary.
